Speaking to the publication, Monica opened up about ageing, explaining that she was at peace with getting older.
She said: 'I'm like everyone else: I tell myself that going against something that is more powerful than me is useless. And if time passes it means that you are lucky to still be here.
'Biological age has consequences, we no longer enjoy the advantages of youth. There is a physical, natural transformation, and there comes a time when you have to accept it.
'The important thing is to continue feeling good and do things that I like and stimulate me.'
Despite being famed for her incredible beauty - she made her modelling debut at just 16 years old - Monica insisted that there is more to her success than her looks.
She said: 'I'm 59 years old and I'm still working, so I don't think it's just about beauty. The initial curiosity comes to nothing if there is not something else behind it.'
Monica previously shared her thoughts about getting older in an interview with the Sunday Times Style magazine.
She said she wants to 'get old in a peaceful way' and isn't 'obsessed' with maintaining her figure in her 50s.

She admitted she prefers wine, pasta, and the occasional Pilates class to grueling workouts and restrictive diets.
Monica said: 'I am not obsessed. I've always been a curvy woman, never so skinny, that's my nature. And I want to get old in a peaceful way.
'When you are 50 or 60 you don't have the same needs as when you are 20. You change, like when your baby comes into the room, you see that the first thing is her. We come in second. This gives us another perspective.'
Elsewhere in the interview with Elle, Monica expressed how things have changed for her nowadays, saying she is more able to express her femininity than in the past.
She touched on the traditional tendency for the film industry to dismiss women over a certain age, and how they approach female characters through a purely male lens.
But Monica pointed out that she had two 'dynamic film roles', the same year that she turned 50.
She said: 'Today we have the freedom to express [our femininity] however we want. I change over time, I evolve. From a girl you become a young woman, a mother, a mature woman...
'Artistically speaking, at the age of 50 I made two films: In the Milky Way, by Emir Kusturica, and Spectre, by Sam Mendes. These directors gave me dynamic roles and the opportunity to cross the bridge of 50, not easy for an actress.'
