Laura Anderson has revealed what really happened when she was forced to rush her daughter Bonnie to A&E on Tuesday.

Talking to MailOnline, Laura said she 'knew straight away' something was wrong with her only child as she opened up about her 'frightening' hospital trip.

Laura, who is the new host of the Scotland Capital breakfast show with co-presenter Fat Brestovci, revealed she had returned home from work and her little girl 'didn't seem herself'.

She explained that Bonnie, who she shares with ex Gary Lucy, had a very high temperature and a raised heart rate.

Laura detailed: 'I got such a fright because I'd come straight from Capital and I was trialing a nanny so she didn't know her too well and I came in and just looked at her and I thought you're usually so smiley and happy but she didn't really seem herself.

The Love Island star, 34, revealed she had rushed her baby girl, seven months, to hospital on Tuesday and wrote: 'A&E with bubba' which caused concern among her fans

'I just knew straight away and then I picked her up and I felt she was so hot and I took her temperature and it was 39 and the thermometer went red and like flashed like an alarm.

'I phoned 111 and it said it was temporarily unavailable and I was like, "oh my god I don't know what to do", so I phoned the children's hospital near me and I said I don't want to be over dramatic and they said come to A&E straight away.'

She continued: 'My heart just sank. I was like, oh I'm not overreacting. I was trying not to be stressed, her temperature had gone down a little bit and they did loads of tests and they had to try and get urine from her, which was a nightmare.

'They got some Calpol in her because she wouldn't take it from me and then I took her to the GP the next day and they just checked her over again because her temperature was still quite high.

'She's just on the mend, they said sometimes they can get a viral thing and it can raise their heart rate up as well when they've got a temperature so that's quite alarming'.

Laura went on to admit she was 'mortified' to call in sick on her second week at Capital but said they were very 'understanding' as she wanted to stay home and 'monitor' her little girl.

The former reality star confirmed that Bonnie is now 'totally back to normal' following the scare.

She continued: 'I'm the only person probably that knows her and is able to monitor her properly which was so crucial the next day and it was nice to be able to just spend a day with her make sure she was alright so thank god.
