Parents are completely distraught after Netflix cancelled a hugely popular children's show on Tuesday.

The famed programme Octonauts will depart from the streamer, leaving some children 'losing their mind' following the announcement.

Despite Netflix ditching the fan favourite animated series, all is not lost as it will be available on both Amazon Prime Video and BBC iPlayer.

Octonauts follows a group of eight animals living in an underwater base who go on adventures with real-life sea creatures. 

Upset parents flooded X, formerly known as Twitter, to share their disappointment, with some writing: 'Can’t believe Octonauts is disappearing from Netflix on Wednesday. Our family will be bereft.
