Streisand, 82, left fans raging after publicly grilling McCarthy, 53, about Ozempic use on an Instagram photo of the actress before she quickly backtracked and deleted the remark on Sunday.
Streisand wrote, 'Give him my regards did you take Ozempic?' - leading to a tidal wave of online criticism.
Now McCarthy has given her first comments on the drama, saying: 'I think Barbra is a treasure and I love her.'
When asked if she thought the Oscar-winner was 'out of line', McCarthy made a dismissive hand gesture and did not answer.

A groveling Streisandwrote: 'OMG - I went on Instagram to see the photos we'd posted of the beautiful flowers I'd received for my birthday!
'Below them was a photo of my friend Melissa McCarthy who I sang with my on Encore album.
'She looked fantastic! I just wanted to pay her a compliment. I forgot the world is reading!'
McCarthy also spoke publicly on the remark, attempting to brush off the drama as she said: 'Barbra is a treasure, I love her!'
The EGOT-winning entertainer was quickly at the receiving end of dozens of responses calling out the nature of her inquiry.
