Busy Philipps got candid about her mental health journey on Wednesday's Today show, detailing how she was diagnosed with ADHD alongside her daughter.
The 44-year-old Dawson's Creek alum — who recently admitted to 'hating' Entourage before guest starring on it — told host Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager that she learned she had the disorder after taking her eldest daughter Birdie, now 15, for a doctor's visit.
'Several years ago I took my daughter to the doctors cause she was having issues with school and as the doctor was going through all the symptoms with Birdie, we realized those are my symptoms too,' she explained.
The actress then consulted her personal physician and obtained her own diagnosis, a pivotal step that significantly aided her lifelong battle with depression and anxiety.
'It really shifted my brain,' Busy admitted. 'I don't think it's a coincidence that the last six years of my career have been the most fruitful.'
