The legendary singer, 83, joined Kate via video call to discuss her career and her upcoming shows - seven years after her last awkward appearane on the show.

In a bid to avoid offending the hitmaker, Kate said: 'You shouldn't mention a woman's age but you're in your eighties'.

And cutting the presenter off, Dionne said: 'I'm 83. You can say I'm 83'.

Kate replied: '83 and looking fabulous and hopefully feeling so'.

Dionne went onto admit she is very critical of herself and revealed she doesn't plan on stopping performing any time soon.

She said: 'I don't listen to my music only once when it is finished and then I'm too critical.

'I do love what I do otherwise I wouldn't be doing it but it is in my genes. God gifted my family, I come from a singing family, we all sing.

'I won't be hanging up doing shows until I can't do them to how I want, it will be when I can't walk on stage the way I want to, sound the way I want to, look the way I want to.'

It's not the first time Dionne has appeaerd on Good Morning Britain - she was last on in 2017.

The I Say A Little Prayer singer spoke to Susanna Reid in the studio back then about her visit to the UK to perform at a children's benefit.

But when Dionne was asked by Susanna about her own personal life - namely the death of her cousin Whitney Houston - things turned sour quickly.

Susanna started to say ‘your family has experienced tragedy, of course your cousin Whitney Houston…’ but the then 72-year-old songstress wasn't having any of it.
