Britney Spears' ex Sam Asghari posts smug 'life update' while posing shirtless ... trends now

Britney Spears' ex-husband, Sam Asghari, uploaded a smug 'life update' in a new Instagram photo on Thursday amid new concerns over the singer's mental health. 

The Hot Seat actor, 30 - who recently settled his divorce with the Toxic songstress nine months after their split - struck a pose while shirtless during a hike with his dog by his side. 

He additionally sported a pair of gray sweatpants and slipped into a pair of white sneakers that were secured with laces. 

For a finishing touch, the media personality added a black, printed cap on top of his head and donned a pair of shades to protect his eyes from the bright sunshine. 

While taking a break on a quiet, dirt path while surrounded by hills, Sam also flashed a cheerful smile for the quick snap. 

Some social media users slammed the actor for making the post amid concerns for Britney's mental health and physical wellbeing.

One follower typed out, 'You post this right after Britney's post. Nice,' while another added, 'This was strategic.'  

Asghari's latest photo comes after Britney sparked 'mental health crisis' concerns when she was seen outside barefoot with the paramedics outside the Chateau Marmont in L.A. in the early hours of Thursday morning. 

Spears has since broken her silence and stated that she attempted to 'do a leap' in her room at the iconic landmark, resulting in her twisting her ankle. 

The star also claimed she was 'set up' by her mother Lynne Spears as she continued to share her truth about what happened when paramedics escorted her out of the Chateau Marmont. 

The superstar sounded tearful as she narrated two Instagram videos that showed off her 'twisted' right ankle that looked painful and swollen. 

It was originally claimed that Spears had suffered the injury after an alleged altercation with her felon 'ex' Paul Richard Soliz at the hotel, but the singer insisted that she fell while trying to 'do a leap' in her room.

Like her initial statement on the matter, she claimed that paramedics came to her hotel room 'illegally' and 'caused a huge scene, which was so unnecessary and all I needed was ice [for my ankle].'

In her caption, Spears then shifted blame to mom Lynne as she accused the 68-year-old of somehow being 'involved' in the ordeal.

'I know my mom was involved !!! I haven't talked to her in 6 months and she called right after it happened before the news being out !!!' the Toxic hitmaker wrote.

This comes as a shock to fans as it was reported late last year that Lynne and Britney were working to 'repair' their relationship as they reunited in December for Britney's 42nd birthday.

She continued: 'I was set up just like she did way back when !!! I wish I had grandparents !!! I can't stand her !!! I honestly don't care I will say it'

Britney closed out her post by gushing over her longtime attorney, Mathew Rosengart, who she said is 'like a father' to her. She also included a photo of Rosengart.

'Psss this man is wonderful !!! He's like a father to me and he got me through last night !!! I adore you and admire you mister Mathew !!!'

The videos shared by Britney were meant to be seen as proof that she had in fact twisted her ankle.

Referring to herself as a 'f***ing idiot,' she explained that she 'tried to do a leap in the living room at the Chateau and I fell, embarrassed myself and that's it.'
