Olly Alexander has opened up about his hotly-anticipated Eurovision debut ahead of his performance on Saturday.

Although the Years & Years singer, 33, is feeling the nerves, he is hoping his late grandmother will give him the strength to win the competition and do the nation proud.

Olly admitted his grandmother will be looking down on him, making sure he is doing his best and making her proud.

The singer said that he is just thinking, feeling and breathing about the competition, admitting he is incredibly overwhelmed.

He said: 'I go to bed thinking of Eurovision, I dream about Eurovision, I wake up thinking about Eurovision. It’s just constantly, constantly in my head.

'I feel like I’ve gone through everything that could possibly go wrong, every eventual possibility, it’s happened in my head already in one way or another. So I don’t know any more. I’m just overwhelmed.

'I’m just not going to focus on where I place in the final because as long as I do a performance that I’m proud of then that’s all that matters.

'Of course, I’d love to have a good result, but so many things are out of your control. So whatever will be, will be. And I’ve made my peace with that.
