Jess Glynne has opened up about the 'struggle' to make new music during her five-year hiatus as she returns to the industry with her third studio album JESS.

The pop singer, 34, proudly admitted she is now living her 'true authentic self' following a spiritual and professional renaissance over the past few years.

Before going MIA for a while, Jess released her second album Always In Between in 2018 - and previously shot to stardom with her first record I Cry When I Laugh.

She quickly became a household name in the pop industry as her first album included global hits such as Rather Be feat. Clean Bandit, Hold My Hand and Take Me Home.

After 2018, she did continue to release some singles and featuring collaborations - but now the star has admitted she was 'struggling' to come up with new music and felt 'uninspired'.

Joining host Clara Amfo for a candid interview in the first episode of the new show ITV Studio Sessions, Jess said: 'I just needed to have a moment outside of it.

'Let me cook let me walk. Let me make my house my home.'

The hitmaker admitted being closer to her family and friends was a healing experience and it didn't take long to
