Heartbroken Eurovision fans took to social media on Wednesday to vent their frustration at Australian band Electric Fields being eliminated from the competition.

The music duo put on the show of their lives in Malmö, Sweden, on Tuesday as they represented Australia in the first semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest.

Sadly, it wasn't enough to win over audiences as they failed to qualify for the grand final.

Furious fans quickly took to social media, with many claiming the talented duo were 'robbed'.

'Electric Fields have been robbed. Gutted Australia didn't get through. Incredible performance! An awesome uplifting song by super talented musicians,' one devastated fan wrote.

'I had Australia as my favourite. Teared up when they brought out an indigenous dancer to play digeridoo. Really disappointed, Electric Fields deserved better,' a second person added. 

'This doesn't make sense. Electric Fields were amazing,' a third person chipped in and another wrote: 'Them not qualifying is a crime'.
