Gerard Butler got back into character as the rugged hero as he resumed filming for the Greenland sequel in Hampshire on Tuesday.

The 300 star, 54, was seen heading to the set in the market town of Alton, which was transformed into an apocalypse-hit version of Liverpool for the upcoming film.

Joined by co-star Morena Baccarin, who plays his wife Alison in the film, Gerard looked every inch the leading man weathered by a worldwide catastrophe, as he and his wife wander a street barren by the disaster.

The quiet town has been turned into a city laden with graffitti and destruction, with survivors beginning their quest to find a new home.

The Market Square and some of the town's roads and parks were closed for the filming of the sequel.

'We are looking forward to seeing Greenland Migration.'

Between scenes, Gerard and Morena were in good spirits as they chatted to various extras, themselves dressed in ragged costumes.

Titled Greenland: Migration, the film is a sequel to the 2020 action thriller, which starred Gerard and Morena as a married couple.

The original film, which was released during the Covid pandemic, took in over $50 million at the box office, and huge rental figures when it was released on VOD, and later HBO Max in the US and Prime Video in the UK.
