Will Smith reveals how his Bad Boys: Ride or Die co-star Vanessa Hudgens' ... trends now
When Bad Boys: Ride or Die hits theaters next month, Will Smith and Martin Lawrence won't be the only established characters returning.
The new sequel also brings back Vanessa Hudgens' Kelly, a weapons expert who made her franchise debut in 2020's Bad Boys For Life.
Filming originally began in April 2023, though production was suspended in July when the actors union SAG-AFTRA went on strike.
Shooting resumed after the strike, though when they came back, Hudgens, 35, was expecting her first child, with Smith, 55, telling ET that it lead to a filming shift.
Smith admitted that at one point, the directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, 'had to start shooting around it.'

'So the strike happened [and] when she came back and we had to finish the movie, it was really [about] trying to figure out how to shoot around,' her bump, Smith said.
Smith added that Hudgens is, 'a hard worker' and she, 'wants to get it done' the right way.
'I was like, "No, don't worry. You'll always be able to tell your child that they were in this scene with you,"' Smith joked.
