She had some big shoes to fill when she took over the coveted role left vacant by her long-running predecessor.
And now, This Morning's current host Cat Deeley will go head-to-head with Holly Willoughby, who stepped down in October after 14 years, at this year's National Television Awards.
The pair will battle it out to be named Best Television Presenter, with both appearing on the longlist ahead of the ceremony in September.
The ultimate test of public popularity, viewers will now be able to vote for their favourite presenter, whittling it down to a shortlist of top talent, which will be released in August.
Ms Deeley, 47, took over from Ms Willoughby, 43, earlier this year after rigorous trials by show producers to find the perfect replacement, joining forces with Ben Shephard.

The show was plunged into turmoil last year when Philip Schofield was forced to step down after it was revealed he had lied about having an affair with a younger colleague.
A few months later, Ms Willoughby also quit the show after an alleged plot to kidnap and murder her emerged, telling fans that she had done so 'for me and my family.'
