The Fortune Hotel has boasted its biggest audience yet after more than 2.5million viewers tuned in to watch on Monday night.

The ITV show sees its participants having to lie to each other as they take part in challenges and try to figure out who the betrayers are - all while staying in a luxury Caribbean resort.

Hosted by Stephen Mangan, Ten couples were whisked away to the fancy hotel to give them the chance to win £250,000.

And anticipation surrounding the show - which has been dubbed the newer, glossier and more charming version of The Traitors - is building, as Monday's episode saw its highest viewer ratings yet.

A peak of 2.6million people tuned in to episode four of the reality show - which saw Claire and Dan the latest couple to be sent packing.

In the first episode of the series, which aired on May 15, eagle-eyed reality TV fans were quick to spot that contestant Louie had already been on E4's The Underdog: Josh Must Win, which aired throughout March and April.

Louie appeared on The Fortune Hotel alongside his best friend and business partner Chloe.

Confused viewers questioned how the same contestant can end up on two reality shows within the space of just a few months.

Others suggested that his former TV stint could be linked to why his duo was the first to leave the show, as he and Chloe were booted off the reality programme at the end of the first episode.

After a suitcase swap, they were left with an empty case and a checkout card, leaving them branded 'The Unfortunates'.

Talking about his experience on the ITV show, Louie said: 'Getting to explore the Caribbean and meeting all the locals was incredible. I also loved the challenges as they were unlike anything you do in day-to-day life.'

It comes after the luxurious five-star luxury Caribbean resort that ITV sent the ten couples to was revealed.

Found at the southern end of the Caribbean, just 100 miles from Venezuela, the tiny tear-shaped island of Grenada has become a hotspot for luxury real estate.
