Alanis Morissette announces Australian tour for 2018

Australian fans will likely know the star's 90s hits Ironic, You Oughta Know and Hand In My Pocket.

And now Alanis Morissette has announced her return Down Under after an almost 20-year absence.

The Canadian songstress, 43, will tour Sydney and Melbourne for the first time since 1999 in January.

The all ages shows will take place in theatres and has been labeled an 'acoustic and intimate' stint.

Alanis appearance will be quick, playing in Melbourne's Palais Theatre on January 23 and Sydney's ICC Sydney Theatre the following night.

While she's best known for her 1995 debut Jagged Little Pill, Alanis has released seven other studio albums over the past 17 years.
