Luke Littler went agonisingly close to reaching the Premier League darts final after losing to fellow Brit, Nathan Aspinall on Thursday evening.

The 17-year-old rising star continued his stunning form in the PDC competition before being eliminated in a 6-3 semi-final defeat against Aspinall in Nottingham.

Littler made it to the final four after a sensational victory over three-time world champion Michael van Gerwen at the Motorpoint Arena Nottingham.

He put on a masterclass against Van Gerwen on night seven of the Premier League that saw the Warrington-born star miss a final throw when on a nine-dart finish.

Double 12 was the final score left on the board, but Littler pulled his shot millimetres wide on the wrong side of the wire.
