Have you ever wondered who your favourite football pundit supports?

Or who your most despised pundit secretly cheers on when the cameras flick away and the lights dim in the studio?

Football opinion machines are paid big money by broadcasters to unpick the beautiful game every weekend, and some make it extremely clear who they're a fan of.

For example, it's absolutely no surprise that Gary Neville is a Manchester United fan. He was, after all, a one-club man.

However, you might be surprised to learn about the footballing affections of some of Sky, TNT, and the BBC's other most prominent voices.

Mail Sport is on hand to explore such fascinations of football fandom.

Roy Keane - Tottenham

Despite his seven Premier League titles with Manchester United, Roy Keane's heart actually resides in north London.

Keane, 52, played 478 times for United during his career and famously captained the Red Devils in their Treble-winning season in 1999.

Fans were therefore surprised when he revealed on national television last year that he is a Spurs fan.

'I am a Spurs fan, I played for Man United but Spurs are my team,' he said, shattering an illusion for many Red Devils supporters.

He has regularly used the term 'Spursy' as a jibe when the club have faltered, while he was more than happy to reveal that Sir Alex Ferguson once mocked the club in a pre-match team talk by simply saying: 'Lads, it's Tottenham.'

Tottenham fans have joked about Keane supporting the club, suggesting it is the cause of the Irishman's often 'miserable' persona.

While Keane's comment surprised some fans, he has repeatedly spoken about supporting Spurs when growing up in Ireland.

Keane revealed at a 2015 function for childhood cancer charity Barretstown that he had admired players like Glenn Hoddle and Clive Allen, which contributed to having a soft spot for the club.

'Just because I played for Manchester United didn't mean I was a fan of the team, Keane said.

'When I played for Rockmount, one of my team-mate's fathers used to bring me to training and he supported Tottenham. That's where it started, I liked their players, the likes of Glenn Hoddle and Clive Allen.

'But after I'd come back from trial at Nottingham Forest, Spurs offered me a trial. I turned it down because Forest had been good to me, I liked the club and felt some loyalty to them. I had a soft spot for Spurs, and still do.'

Daniel Sturridge - Arsenal

It seems strange for a man with such a strong connection to Liverpool, but Sturridge is not a Reds fan.

Nor is he likely to be found in the stands of the Etihad cheering on Manchester City, or at Stamford Bridge getting his voice hoarse for Chelsea.

That's because Sturridge is an Arsenal fan - the London rivals of his old employers.

Why? He once told Liverpool fans from Mumbai in a question and answer session: 'Because I was a striker [growing up]. The players they had, the strikers they had at the time. Nicolas Anelka, [Dennis] Bergkamp, and then you had Thierry Henry, players like that, so yeah I looked up to those players.'

Sturridge was born in 1989, so he would have been in his teenage years when Arsenal were hoovering up titles under Arsene Wenger in the early 2000s, including the 2003-04 Invincibles season.

Unfortunately, Sturridge did not name one of the lesser-heralded forwards from that campaign - Jeremie Aliadiere, who played 10 league games that season without scoring - as an inspiration.

Last season, Micah Richards called out Sturridge on his Arsenal fandom.

'Those Arsenal fans will be absolutely buzzing if they could go ahead and do that [win the title],' Sturridge said.

'You're a Gunner, aren't you?' Richards quipped. Sturridge couldn't hide the truth, admitting he was 'at heart'.

He also reportedly had a fondness for Derby County as a child.

Jamie Carragher - Everton

Carragher made 737 appearances for Liverpool and is a veritable Reds legend, but it is well-documented that he supported their arch-rivals as a Merseyside prospect.

That's right, Carragher was an Everton fan, writing in Carra: My Autobiography that 'I thought of myself as the biggest Blue in Bootle' growing up.

He was scouted by Liverpool in 1988 as a young lad, but would still arrive at training donning a Graeme Sharp Everton kit. He also named Kevin Sheedy, who spent a decade with the Toffees, as an inspiration.

However, over time, those blue affections dimmed and were engulfed in the red fire of the Kop.

He told the Daily Mirror in 2008: 'Losing the derby is worse than losing any other game. My passion has gone full circle.

'I was made up on the first day of the season when Blackburn scored that late winner at Goodison. We were getting ready to play Sunderland and it gave me a big lift.

'I was a total Everton fanatic right through my childhood and teens.

'Everton controlled my life and dominated my thoughts 24/7. I went to the away games, followed them across Europe and in the mid-80s went to Wembley so often it began to feel like Alton Towers.

'When I talk about that Everton team I still say 'we'. Even when I was playing for Liverpool reserves I'd want Everton's first team to win the derby every time.'

Ian Wright - Millwall

Beloved BBC pundit spent most of his career banging in goals for Crystal Palace and Arsenal.

With his affable personality it's easy to forget how ruthless he was in front of goal - 333 goals originated with his boots and in 1998 he was rewarded with a Premier League title.

While he is best associated with the Gunners, 'Wrighty' started off adoring a club with a more humble background: Millwall, who currently reside in the Championship.

'I've been going to Millwall since I was nine, when I used to have to go and stay at my aunt Sally's down in Deptford,' he said a few years ago.

'So I started going then. I love it. I love coming to Millwall. When I was younger, it was the only team I wanted to play for.

'Obviously it didn't work out that way and at the end, when I went to Burnley, I was desperate to come here just to finish my career here, but it didn't happen.'

Micah Richards - Arsenal

As a footballer, Richards is most noted for 'bursting onto the scene' with Manchester City, where he won a Premier League title and FA Cup.

Nowadays, he splits his time between punditry duties with Sky, CBS, and Match of the Day.

On Tuesday night, viewers couldn't help but notice Richards donning an Arsenal kit while covering their win on penalties over Porto in the Champions League

After the win, some Arsenal fans even stayed back to chant: 'Micah Richards is a Gooner!'

He said: 'Everyone knows I was an Arsenal fan growing up but I have so much respect for Man City.'
