Jerome Boateng's retrial on charges of assaulting his ex-girlfriend will begin on the opening day of this summer's European Championship in Germany.
The former Germany defender, who won the World Cup in 2014, is due in a Munich court on June 14, the same day Germany play Scotland across the city at the Allianz Arena.
That is the first of six court dates now set for Boateng's hearing - as reported by Bild - with the verdict due on July 19.
Ex-Manchester City and Bayern Munich player Boateng was found guilty of assaulting ex-girlfriend Sherin Senler, the mother of his twin daughters, in September 2021.
He avoided a five-year jail term and was instead fined £1.5million after being found guilty of biting, spitting at and punching Senler during a Caribbean holiday in 2018.
