Arsenal midfielder Frida Maanum has been fitted with a heart monitor after collapsing during the League Cup final last weekend, but early test results have indicated there were no obvious cardiac causes.

Maanum fell to the floor in the 95th minute and required oxygen during a nine-minute stoppage at Molineux on Sunday.

The midfielder was in stable condition and talking after being taken off on a stretcher and has been closely monitored by Arsenal since.

The Gunners have now confirmed that Maanum has undergone extensive testing, with results showing no obvious cardiac causes behind her collapse.

She has, however, been fitted with a monitoring device to record her heart function and will continue to be monitored before a decision is made on her return to play.
