A Manchester United Academy player mimicked Wayne Rooney's boxing celebration after scoring against Liverpool months on from being attacked by an opposing player in the reverse fixture.

Liverpool defender Luca Furnell-Gill was caught punching and elbowing United's Ethan Wheatley during the Under 18s Premier league match in January.

Furnell-Gill went unpunished by the referee as the Red Devils went on to claim a 4-3 victory after the clash turned sour.

The two sides went head-to-head once again on Saturday and United claimed a thumping 9-1 victory against their fierce rivals.

Striker Wheatley got on the scoresheet with a hat-trick and celebrated one of his goals in style.
