Former Australian boxing world champion Jeff Fenech has been embroiled in a drug trafficking case in the United States.
According to US court documents revealed by The Guardian, Fenech, 59, was the unwitting recipient of packages containing narcotics incluidng cocaine and methamphetamine.
The delivery of the package was part of an alleged drug trafficking organisation operating between the United States and Australia.
No charges have been laid against the three-weight world champion, while his lawyer has stressed that he is not a suspect for any criminal offence.
Fenech was named in an affidavit filed in California's US district court as part of charges made against an individual called Moustapha Moustapha.
