sport news Is Thomas Tuchel planning a surprise line-up against Arsenal? How the WIND has ... trends now By Luke Power Published: 18:07 BST, 17 April 2024 | Updated: 18:22 BST, 17 April 2024 Viewcomments Thomas Tuchel could reportedly be planning a staggering tactical switch-up targeted at stymying Bukayo Saka against Arsenal tonight. Bayern Munich welcome Arsenal to the Allianz Arena in the Champions League quarter-finals after a 2-2 draw in the first leg. And German newspaper BILD believes they have spotted a potential surprise admission - thanks to the help of the wind. Heavy gusts of wind at Bayern's Sabener Strasse complex meant that curtains and canopies obscuring the training pitch didn't close fully. That allowed BILD reporters to spy the team's final match in preparation for their European clash. Thomas Tuchel could reportedly be planning a huge tactical switch-up as Bayern Munich prepare to face Arsenal Thomas Muller was reportedly playing on a seeming 'B team' in training, indicating he could miss out BILD spotted all most of the players expected to start wearing the same kit, as if they were the 'A team', with those expected to miss out, such as the suspended Alphonso Davies, in the 'B team'. Noussair Mazraoui and Raphael Guerrero were in the 'A team', which is surprising because both are full-backs. Only one would be needed to cover for Davies. The newspaper speculates that rapid Mazraoui will be tasked with marking Bukayo Saka, while Guerrero will play on the left wing, pushing Jamal Musiala into the central role usually occupied by Thomas Muller. Alternatively, Tuchel could find space for both in the back line. Muller, arguably Bayern's most iconic player, was reportedly playing for the 'B' team in the match, indicating he could be dropped yet again. He did not start against Arsenal last week. He was on the team with Davies and peripheral figures who are not expected to start. In the 'A team' were lots of the expected names - Leroy Sane, Leon Goretzka, Konrad Laimer, Joshua Kimmich, Eric Dier, and Matthijs de Ligt. The Champions League represents Bayern's last hope of silverware this season after Bayer Leverkusen officially wrapped up their first Bundesliga title at the weekend. Bild speculates that Bayern could seek to stop Bukayo Saka with Noussair Mazraoui's pace Mazraoui could take Alphonso Davies' spot, with Raphael Guerrero in left wing and Jamal Musiala playing down the middle again Harry Kane's switch from Spurs to Bavaria has not gone to plan, with Bayern second in the Bundesliga and knocked out of the second round of the DFB-Pokal against third tier side FC Saarbrucken. He scored a penalty in Bayern's 2-2 draw against Arsenal last week, where Leandro Trossard scored a 76th-minute penalty to rescue the game for Mikel Arteta's side. Gabriel and William Saliba had a torrid night and know they will need to perform better if they are to stop one of Europe's deadliest men. Despite Bayern's woes, Kane has scored 39 goals in 39 games and would love to break the hearts of a fanbase he called the enemy for so long in England.
