A hearing date for the mother of a footy star accused of killing three people in a horrific road crash has not been set, with a magistrate concerned about the mental state of the defendant. 

Uiatu 'Joan' Taufau, the mother of Brisbane Broncos star Payne Haas, allegedly ploughed into an oncoming vehicle after fleeing from a police patrol car on December 30, 2022.

The oncoming vehicle was carrying Steffi Zimmer, her mother Susan Zimmer and her mother's former partner, Chris Fawcett.

The trio died at the scene and Taufau, who survived the crash, was hit with charges of manslaughter, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, an unlicensed driver and evading police.

A further charge relating to mid-range drink driving was added. She has not entered a plea as of yet.
