Portsmouth players appeared to be letting the good times roll after their jubilant celebrations sparked by promotion to the Championship on Tuesday night, with Paddy Lane appearing on a radio programme on Wednesday seemingly still drunk.

Tuesday evening's late 3-2 comeback win against Barnsley at Fratton Park helped Pompey seal the League One title at home, and return to the second division for the first time in 12 years.

Effusive celebrations between fans and their players began when the home ground's pitch was invaded on the final whistle, and carried on long into the night with a beer-soaked party at an O'Neills pub

Videos circulating on social media showed the squad singing along to 'Wonderwall' with fans, serving themselves behind the bar, and dancing in the streets.

Defender Joe Rafferty was even filmed interrupting a speech by Marlon Park by mooning the packed house.

And there was no swift recovery for media duties on Wednesday evening, as Lane and Rafferty evidenced in an appearance on BBC Radio Solent Sport.

Still in high spirits, Lane interspersed his answers with pauses and giggles as he shared his enjoyment of the raucous celebrations.

'I'm alright, yeah yeah yeah,' Lane began. 'It's been class, the last 24 hours. It's been class.

'Obviously the fans were out last night, and we were out, and it was great. We've got the awards tonight so we're looking forward to that.

'But to do it with the fans on the pitch, wow, what a feeling.'

As he struggled to get his words out amid peals of laughter, the winger also set off Rafferty, who found it difficult himself to string a sentence together watching his team-mate.
