Harley Reid will miss West Coast's game against the Suns this weekend, with the rising star afforded a weekend off after his heroics for the AFL club.
Reid, last year's No 1 draft pick, has taken to senior footy like a duck to water, featuring in all six of the Eagles' games thus far and was influential in back-to-back wins over Richmond and Fremantle.
Those victories have sparked life into the Perth club, who have failed to win consecutive games since rounds 18 and 19 in 2021, and many are tipping Reid as an outside chance for the Brownlow Medal already.
However, rather than travel with his teammates to the Gold Coast, his club has confirmed that he is heading home to Tongala in northern Victoria instead.
'Harley has been fantastic for us over the first six weeks,' West Coast football manager Gavin Bell said.
