Chris Wood has broken his silence following Nottingham Forest's remarkable social media statement last Sunday, claiming that he can 'understand' the club's VAR fury. 

Nottingham Forest released a statement at the end of their 2-0 defeat to Everton that has caused huge uproar across the game, insisting that they should have been awarded three penalties in the game. 

However, they went further by writing they 'simply cannot accept' the decisions and will 'consider their options' as well as insinuating the VAR Stuart Attwell was a Luton Town supporter, the Hatters also in the battle against relegation. 

The post has come in for criticism, with Gary Neville dubbing it 'horrendous' and Jamie Carragher claiming it was like 'a fan in the pub'.

Now, ahead of a crunch tie against title-chasing Manchester City, Chris Wood has told the Daily Telegraph that he understands the club's ire.
