Two-time World Cup winner Ronaldo has confirmed a deal to sell his stake in Brazilian side Cruzeiro, before revealing plans for a similar sale at Spanish outfit Real Valladolid.
The 47-year-old had bought a controlling stake of 90 per cent in Cruzeiro in December 2021.
Ronaldo bought the stake in the club where he started his career for £62.2m, with the deal completed through his company Tara Sports Brasil.
He has been credited with helping to clear the club’s reported debt of around £160m, while Cruzeiro were promoted back to the Brazilian top flight in 2022.
Ronaldo, who is set to remain a board member, has reportedly faced criticism from fans for failing to invest as much as he initially promised into the club.
