Sean Dyche hasn’t been asked to supervise a fire-sale at Everton this summer but acknowledges the club’s recruitment plans are on hold until a potential takeover is completed.

Everton owner Farhad Moshiri is waiting for Premier League approval before he can sell to US-based investment group 777 partners with doubts over their ability to fund a deal.

Names like England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford have been linked with a move away from Goodison Park to raise funds but Dyche – whose side have escaped relegation despite behind docked six points for breaching profit and sustainability rules – is hoping to avoid that situation.

‘We won’t necessarily have to sell. There are a varied amount of things that have to go into the PSR, it is not just that scenario,’ said Dyche.

‘There are some obvious questions to be answered but the new ownership, possible new ownership, might change things. We're still waiting on more news.
