The reason why Kylian Mbappe was left behind by PSG's team bus after their defeat by Borussia Dortmund has been revealed.

Mbappe played the full game of his side's first-leg Champions League semi-final tie on Wednesday as the Parisians lost 1-0 in their bid to win the title in what is expected to be their star man's final season.

The forward was unable to have too much of an impact on the game, with his side coming on the wrong side of the result in Germany as they managed just three shots on target in the game.

They will have the chance to turn the tie around next week as they bid to finally win Europe's elite competition, with the second leg to take place back in Paris on Tuesday.

Luis Enrique's side may have to do so with a potentially-frustrated Mbappe, however, who was left behind at Signal Iduna Park, and the reason has now been revealed.
