Wrexham have revealed a number of players, including the club captain, have been released by the club.

The Hollywood-owned side have been celebrating promotion from League Two out in Las Vegas once again as their impressive rise up the football pyramid continued following promotion to the fourth tier last season.

Owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have rewarded the squad following an excellent season with a trip to the States, but for some it will be bitter sweet following the publication of the club's retained list.

Club captain Luke Young, who has been at the club since 2018, is one of eight players that have been released following the conclusions of their contracts, a list that also includes long-throw specialist Ben Tozer.

Two former Premier League players are set to stay on, meanwhile, with James McClean triggering an automatic extension and forward Steven Fletcher offered a new deal.
