Eric Dier was left bleeding from a cut on his head in Bayern Munich's clash with Stuttgart.

The 30-year-old's move to the Bavarian giants was met with skepticism when it was announced but Dier has since proven himself an integral component of Thomas Tuchel's defence and he again demonstrated his value to the team on Saturday.

With Manuel Neuer beaten, the Tottenham loanee was on hand to provide a goal-line clearance to deny Serhou Guirassy a certain goal, heading away to safety.

The clearance reopened a cut he had sustained earlier in the game and left it gushing with blood, forcing medical staff to intervene.

Subsequently wrapped in a Terry Butcher-esque bandage, Dier played on until half-time before being replaced as his side fell to their seventh league defeat of the season.
