Getafe president Angel Torres has claimed that Manchester United have made a decision on what to do with outcast Mason Greenwood amid speculation over his future.

He added that he had also spoken to Barcelona president Joan Laporta and sporting director Deco about the forward.

Mail Sport revealed in April that new minority co-owner, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, was working on the assumption that the 22-year-old, who joined the LaLiga outfit on loan in September, would be sold this summer.

Greenwood has not played for United since January 2022, after he was arrested and later charged in October 2022 with attempted rape, controlling behaviour and assault. The case against him was dropped in February 2023 after key witnesses withdrew.

United had received backlash after speculation emerged that Greenwood could be re-integrated into the squad following an internal investigation by the club. Their leadership team concluded that releasing the player from his £75,000-a-week contract was not an option, but would instead seek a future for him away from Old Trafford.
