Darts star Kim Huybrechts was the victim of a vicious attack by hooligans following Antwerp's defeat by Union Saint-Gilloise in the Belgian Cup final on Thursday.
Huybrechts will reportedly undergo surgery on a broken shoulder which he sustained on his way home through Brussels after the match.
According his wife, Dana Verhaegen, Huybrechts was tackled, punched and kicked while on the ground following an attack on his friend with a motorcycle helmet.
The darts star managed to receive help after escaping from the hooligans and making his way to the buses for Antwerp fans.
The 38-year-old was taken to hospital where he received further treatment and was confirmed to have sustained a double fracture to his right shoulder.
