Joey Barton has been announced as the new co-host of talkSPORT's flagship radio show 'Matchday Live' from the opening weekend of the Premier League season. 

The 34-year-old will join talkSPORT as he continues to serve the 13-month suspension handed to him by the FA in April for gambling on football matches.

Barton last played for Burnley in the Premier League last season, he previously enjoyed spells at Manchester City, Newcastle and Rangers.
