The National Institutes of Health has been condemned for torturing monkeys with acid, toy snakes and rubber spiders for research after it was revealed Dr Anthony Fauci had approved funding horrific experiments on beagles.

Watchdog the White Coat Waste Project (WCW) first accused the NIH of conducting 'bizarre psychological experiments' on monkeys back in December 2019, revealing that the experiments has cost taxpayers 'nearly $100 million just since 2007' and have been 'continuously funded for over 40 years'.

It re-emerged the day after Fauci - director of the NIH's National Institutes for Allergies and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) was condemned for funding experiments which saw beagles left in the desert for flies to eat them.

The WCW first unveiled the monkey experiment in December 2019, announcing a lawsuit against after the NIH reportedly refused to provide them with 'videos and other materials related to wasteful and bizarre psychological experiments on primates'.

The organization alleges that the experiments have cost nearly $100 million just since 2007.

Since released video footage of the testing showed distraught primates chained in tiny cages as researchers surprised them with rubber spiders and mechanical snakes - objects they instinctively fear - to observe their reactions.

The NIH scientists then removed portions of their brains or destroyed them with acid to 'intentionally worsen the primates' fear'.

'In the video, a callous NIH 'white coat' can be heard joking, 'Where the hell is the dancing monkey?,' after one of the tests on the terrified monkeys ends,' the WCW report states.

The videotaped experiments, according to the group, took place at he National Institutes of Mental Health (NIMH) in Bethesda, Maryland and have 'cost taxpayers over $16 million since 2007 and $1.7 million in 2019 alone.'

The 2019 report resurfaced Monday as Dr Anthony Fauci faces public outcry after the WCW revealed over the weekend that his division of the NIH - the National Institutes of Allergies and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) - spent millions conducting cruel and painful experiments on beagle puppies.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who is among those outraged by the alleged findings, has called for Fauci's resignation, citing the misuse of taxpayer funds.

'I really think Fauci needs to be held accountable,' DeSantis said during a press conference Monday. 'They're doing cruel experiments on puppies. What they were doing with those puppies is flat out disgusting. It's despicable. I cannot believe American tax dollars would go to treat those dogs the way those dogs are being treated.'

He continued: 'From funding gain of function research to treating these puppies with really unimaginable cruelty, I think that whole lot of them need to be cleaned out and we need to be standing up for the American taxpayer and doing things ethically.'

Meanwhile, the American public is condemning the immunologist on Twitter as #FauciLiedDogsDied trends nationwide.

Rep. Mary Miller (R-IL) called out the immunologist on social media saying: 'Dr. Fauci lied repeatedly about the NIH funding gain-of-function research in China.

'His agency ALSO spent millions of tax dollars on animal testing that involved the brutal abuse and murder of puppies Yet, he's still our government's highest paid employee. #FauciLiedDogsDied'

'Gosh, maybe trusting whatever the government tells us as long as they claim it's 'science' isn't a good call after all. Who knew?,' wrote Nick Freitas, member of the Virginia House of Delegates.

'Interesting. It took animal torture to wake up Americans to the evils of Fauci,' echoed documentary film producer Errol Webber.

Some social media users even marked their dogs 'safe from Dr Fauci,' referencing the Facebook featured used during disaster situations.

Conservative talkshow host Candace Owens also condemned Fauci, while incorrectly attributing the monkey experiment to his research within the NIH.

'Reading through Fauci's experiments and the one I find most alarming is the use of an acid to destroy a region of monkeys' brains to magnify terror,' Owens wrote.

'They then simulated images of spiders and tormented them with fear. Human DNA is 97% identical to apes. Why fund that research?'

The WCW, in a statement issued to DailyMail.com on Monday, reiterated that while they the monkey experiments were conducted by the NIH, they 'were not conducted or funded by Fauci's division.'

As of a result of the WCW's investigation, Congress directed the NIH to commission an independent study by the National Academies on their intramural primate testing and modern alternatives to this type of testing.

The governmental organization had to report its efforts to reduce and replace the primate testing by the end of 2020.

Similarly, a group of legislators are now calling on Fauci and his NIAID researchers to answer the American people's questions about the allegations that they were using taxpayers dollars to conduct inhumane experiments on beagle puppies.

The lawmakers expect a response by November 19.

The WCW revealed over the weekend that the NIAD funded four animal experiments involving the puppies, including one which saw beagles trapped in cages so flies could eat them, and another where they were 'debarked' before being pumped with drugs and killed.

One of the most disturbing incidents funded by Fauci's National Institutes of Allergies and Infectious Diseases involved $375,000 given to a Tunisian research lab.

There, puppies had their heads held in cages, before being left for sand flies to eat them alive for to see how a specific drug works against diseases they carry.

Distressing snaps showed the pups with their heads kept inside the muslin-type cages filled with the hungry insects.

Another procedure - which the NIH funded to the tune of $1.8m - saw 44 beagle puppies undergo a 'cordectomy,' which saw their vocal cords cut to stop them barking.

That experiment, which took place in Menlo Park, California, saw the dogs then pumped full of drugs, before being killed and dissected.
