Melbourne has been rocked overnight by two violent incidents with one man found seriously injured in the eastern suburbs and another shot dead in the city's north.
Emergency crews were called to a house in Conway Crescent, Balwyn about 9pm Thursday where they found a man in a backyard with life-threatening injuries who was later rushed to hospital.
