A former MoneySuperMarket director died in Spain from cocaine-induced cardiac arrest, a coroner has ruled. 

Sean Thweny from Wrexham, who the inquest heard had a history of drug and alcohol misuse may have been lying dead in his Spanish flat in Marbella for three days before his body was found.

At an inquest at Ruthin, North Wales, the family of Mr Thweny said they had concerns about the thoroughness of the investigation by the Spanish police.

The 51-year-old was director of business development for Flintshire-based MoneySuperMarket from 2000 to 2009, when he received one million shares in the company. He then moved to live in Marbella.

When police were called to his apartment on February 28, 2019, they found him kneeling against a sofa and cocaine on a plate alongside him. There was also drug paraphernalia.

A post-mortem examination carried out in Spain found his body contained cocaine and benzodiazepines and various other substances used to 'cut' the
