Female police officer 'who had fling with convicted burglar threatened him with ... trends now In a 'pretty threatening series of texts', Virgo messaged Mr Cserfalvi-Young to tell him she had 'a lot of people are looking out for me' and warned him her cousins had said 'of all the people you could have f***ed over you picked the wrong one' A female police officer had a relationship with a convicted burglar and then took 'revenge' on him by threatening him in anonymous messages after he dumped her, a court has heard. PC Miriam Virgo 'didn't take it well' when Carl Cserfalvi-Young ended things after their three-week romance and told him he was a 'dead man walking', jurors were told. Prosecutors allege the 43-year-old serving Thames Valley Police officer threatened him using a website which allows users to pay to send anonymous texts, prosecutors said. Virgo is said to have told Mr Cserfalvi-Young his days were 'numbered' in 'gangster' texts which she also sent to his mother in an attempt to intimidate them, the court heard. She denies harassment causing fear of violence. Opening the trial, prosecutor Charles Ward-Jackson told Winchester Crown Court the offence was made up of nine separate events that took place between May 31 and September 10, 2022. 'In a nutshell, Ms Virgo started threatening violence towards a man following the break-up of their brief relationship,' he said. 'He dumped her and she didn't take it very well - she got her revenge by the threatening of violence which the Crown say is harassment.' The court heard Mr Cserfalvi-Young had recently been released from prison for burglary when the pair met at a pub in Reading, in May 2022. After meeting again and exchanging messages online, they began a relationship. 'Mr Cserfalvi-Young was aware she was a serving police officer,' he added. 'So it was a slightly unusual relationship, perhaps slightly unadvised and perhaps unsurprisingly it didn't last long and ended rather abruptly after three weeks.' The court heard he had broken things off via a phone call, in which he told her he wanted to get back with his ex-girlfriend. 'Ms Virgo was not very happy about that,' Mr Ward-Jackson added. 'She hung up on him and then started to take a type of revenge. PC Miriam Virgo (pictured outside Winchester Crown Court) 'didn't take it well' when Carl Cserfalvi-Young ended things after their three-week romance The court heard Mr Cserfalvi-Young (pictured) had recently been released from prison for burglary when the pair met at a pub in Reading, in May 2022 'She looked up the girlfriend on Facebook and having found her address, sent her a message.' Virgo called the woman 'out of the blue' and in a 45-minute phone call told his ex-girlfriend she had 'won' and 'got him back', it was heard. In a 'pretty threatening series of texts', Virgo messaged Mr Cserfalvi-Young to tell him she had 'a lot of people are looking out for me' and warned him her cousins had said 'of all the people you could have f***ed over you picked the wrong one'. She then rang him and said: "You've seen a nice side of me, but you haven't seen the other side of me, and if you f*** with me I will f*** with you. 'I've got nothing to lose. I'm not OK, I'm ready to take a f***ing knife on my kitchen, so you better f***ing start talking to me right f***ing now.' The court heard there was then little correspondence until a 'small flurry' of anonymous messages in early September were sent to Mr Cserfalvi-Young and his mother. On September 3, he received a text warning him to stay away from where his girlfriend lived in Chigwell in 'gangster-type language'. In a 'devious disguise' she pretended to be a lover of Mr Cserfalvi-Young's girlfriend, saying: 'your days are numbered...Ur a dead man walking.' He reported the four 'extremely threatening' messages to police, as Virgo was arrested a week later at her address in Reading. Police searched her home and found a number of devices that were examined. Opening the trial, prosecutor Charles Ward-Jackson told Winchester Crown Court (pictured) the offence was made up of nine separate events that took place between May 31 and September 10, 2022 Her phone had been accessing a website called 'anonymoustext.co' where users can send anonymous texts for a small fee and payments had been sent to a company linked to the website. Mr Ward-Jackson told the court it became clear it was Virgo who had sent the texts and had simultaneously been sending threatening texts to herself in an 'ingenious' method to deflect suspicion. In her police interview, she said Mr Cserfalvi-Young had 'love-bombed' her at the pub and any threat had been 'misunderstood'. Giving evidence, Mr Cserfalvi-Young said he had been 'scared' by Virgo on the phone and left 'physically shaking'. Virgo denies the anonymous messages were sent by her and that the others do not amount to harassment. The trial, which is expected to last five days, continues.
