Spencer Matthews relives bizarre night he feared Colonel Gaddafi's son was ... trends now

Spencer Matthews hid under the bed at his parents' St Barts hotel after he feared bodyguards for Colonel Gaddafi's son were going to kill him following a row over a girl in a nightclub.

Matthews told how he was petrified as the security guards for army officer Mutassim Billah Gaddafi - a regular on the Caribbean island- came banging on his door at the £14,000-a-night Eden Roc when he was a teenager.

Speaking on the Mail's Everything I Know About Me podcast, the star told how he had been on a date at the famous Feeling nightspot when Gaddafi, who later died in 2011, approached him and the woman, named Sophie, and rudely suggested she would be sleeping with him that night.

Matthews, 36, says he defended the woman and shortly afterwards a group of bodyguards came after him and he was forced to flee the nightclub.

However, the security men would not allow him to leave the car park so Matthews says he just 'drove at them'.

He said: 'I was single at the time and there was a young lady who was new to the Eden Roc, she was called Sophie.

'We went up to a nightclub called Feeling. It was quite seedy in nature but very famous. We were in there at the back enjoying ourselves and this guy came up to me and was just incredibly rude.

'I won't say what he said to me but it was along the lines of 'you are going to spend the night in bed with me tonight' - not to me but to Sophie, in front of me.

'I had a mouth on me and my levels of confidence certainly weren't depleted at the time. I was pretty rude to him back and we had this argument over it and he disappeared off.

'I couldn't believe what this guy has just said as, out of the corner of my eye, I see him and these three or four security guards - they were like aliens, the size of them, their shoulders went almost directly into their ears they were so big.

'I don't know what they were eating or injecting but these guys were just total monsters of men, four, five of them all dressed in black and I saw them tearing through the crowd, coming our way.
