A Broadmoor nurse who had sex with a gangster patient who shot a man in the neck, has been spared jail after a judge heard of her 'isolated social life.'
Katie Stinchcombe was caught having an improper relationship with a patient at the top security hospital in 2020 after she seen on CCTV waiting in a corridor before joining the patient in a cupboard.
A prosecutor told how the 38-year-old had relations with the psychotic detainee and regularly broke regulations by speaking to him on a mobile phone.
Stinchcombe was ordered to complete 15 rehabilitation activity requirement days and will be on the Sex Offenders' Register for 10 years.
The court heard that since the accusation against her, life at home became difficult with her coercive partne, who has since left her and their two children.

Judge Amjad Nawaz, sitting at Reading Crown Court on Friday, said that Stinchcombe, a health care facilitator at Broadmoor was 'effectively a nurse' at the high security hospital.
He heard that Stinchcombe began an intimate relationship with a mentally-ill patient - communicating with the victim by telephone and disclosing to the victim confidential information concerning other patients.
The defendant sat crying in the dock in court as the judge was told that on September 19, 2020, she had sexual relations with the patient victim.
The court heard that Stinchcombe began working at Broadmoor Hospital when she was around 21 years old.
Prosecutor Charles Ward-Jackson told the court that the patient involved had been transferred from HMP Belmarsh and was serving a sentence for attempted murder - having shot someone in the neck.
He told the judge that Stinchcombe had begun an inappropriate relationship with the schizophrenic man who had gangland affiliations. She communicated by telephone with the patient and discussed restricted patient information from the hospital with him. Stinchcombe broke rules by telling the patient which prisons eight patients were being transferred to.
Mr Ward-Jackson said that telephone tracking was the key to discovering the illicit relationship.

The prosecutor told the judge that Stinchcombe, who has since found alternative employment in care, was working as a healthcare facilitator - on a ward specifically set aside for patients transferred from prisons for psychiatric assessment.
He said: 'Whilst on the ward the man developed a friendship with Stinchcombe. Another staff member noticed the inappropriate friendship and she alerted management at the top security hospital.'
Once the victim had transferred back to HMP Belmarsh, he tracked Stinchcombe down
