A brave Newport Beach homeowner guarded his $5million mansion after two daring intruders attempted to enter his property.
The bizarre incident left one of the suspects dead and another bleeding out in the middle of the street after the owner shot him in an attempt to defend his sleeping family.
Around 4.45am on Tuesday, a resident inside the home called 911 and reported a possible home invasion. They also told police that the owner shot one of the intruders.
Another suspect was found dead after he fled the house, and appeared to suffer from a 'self-inflicted gunshot wound to his head,' police said.
When officers arrived at the scene they found the suspect that was wounded by the owner laying in the street, armed with a gun, suffering from gunshot wounds.
