A window row has opened up between neighbours after one of them used the 'wrong paint' on their house.

Karen Iridag replaced 14 windows of her C-listed home on Rubislaw Den South, Aberdeen, without permission from the city council.

She later sought approval for the changes in a retrospective planning application, which drew an objection from neighbours Anne and Johan van Diggelen, who voiced concerns with the windows used in the property.

They complained to city planners about the windows' opening mechanism and slammed the use of brown paint rather than its original white finish, saying it made the 120-year-old villa 'particularly unsightly'.

However Mrs Iridag was given a reprieve from the council, who deemed the property's new windows were 'appropriate' and provided improved 'thermal efficiency' to the home.
