This is the moment suspects are arrested after police discovered a man's 'burnt body' in the back garden of a 'highly reclusive' family's home.

Neighbours living on the quiet cul-de-sac in Bradford said the family had not been seen going out for years, with several even fearing the elderly man at the property may have died during Covid.

Local residents were alerted by a man's piercing screams and within minutes smoke was seen coming from the garden of the detached family home.

Those living on Shetland Close were not able to get through the locked gate but saw a 'badly mangled' body had been 'on fire.' Within minutes police arrived at the scene and forced their way into the property.

Firefighters and the ambulance service also rushed to the house during the dramatic incident at around 4pm yesterday. Police later confirmed a man had been found dead.

Today, West Yorkshire Police confirmed a 52-year-old woman and 26-year-old man had been arrested on suspicion of murder. Both remain in custody. Police said they are not looking for anyone else in relation to the incident.

Officers later confirmed the body was that of an adult male but formal enquiries to identify him are ongoing and the force is trying to trace his next of kin.

Footage shows emergency services crowded outside the home before police officers are seen forcing their way into the property. One police officer can be heard shouting 'everybody back' directed at the residents watching and filming.

A person wearing orange can be seen being lifted up by three police officers while another wearing blue can also be seen handcuffed and being dragged into a police van.

According to neighbours, a man, believed to be aged in his 80s, lived at the house with his younger wife and her son of around 20. But little was known about them as the family haven't been seen going in or out the home for a number of years.

The wife was said to be a devoted gardener and one neighbour who overlooks the back garden said he would often see her wearing a 'hazmat suit and mask' while tending to her plants.

Several neighbours told MailOnline they believed the elderly man may have died during Covid as they had not seen him at all since the pandemic.

The incident is all the more shocking as there has never been any trouble or known problems at the family home.

A neighbour called Mohammed said he was alerted by a neighbour's shouts that a 'body was on fire.'

'There was smoke coming from the garden but we couldn't get in because the gate was bolted shut,' he said. 'We tried to force the gate open and we could see blood and that a mangled body was there.'

'I couldn't believe it, it was like something out of a horror film. You don't expect anything like that to happen here,' he added.

Mohammed said police arrived a few
