These are the restaurants with the best fried chicken in America, according to a new list compiled by food experts Eat This, Not That!  

From California to Louisiana and even a spot in pizza-famous New York, here are the winners. 

1. Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles - California

California chain Roscoe's claimed the top spot with its non-greasy options like chicken and waffles. 

Business Insider gave the franchise high praise. 

'Even though the chicken was far from dry, it wasn't greasy at all. It was perfect,' she wrote. 

Snoop Dogg, Stevie Wonder, and former US President Barack Obama are all fans. 

2. Willie Mae's Scotch House - New Orleans & L.A.

Originally intended to be a bar, New Orleans-based Willie Mae's Scotch House became a restaurant based in the 1970s amid high demand. 

According to the restaurant's website, both the Food Network and the Travel Channel have recognized it as 'America's Best Fried Chicken.'

Willie Mae's Scotch House is primarily known for its fried chicken platters.

Now, the restaurant another location in Los Angeles. 

Both the original and the Californian outpost are run by Mae's granddaughter, Kerry Seaton Stewart. 

3. Honey Butter Fried Chicken - Illinois

Honey Butter Fried Chicken serves menu items like sweet chili barbecue fried chicken sandwiches and a fried chicken sandwich with honey butter

Co-owners and chefs Josh Kulp and Christine Cikowski opened the first Honey Butter Fried Chicken restaurant in 2013.

Today, it has three Illinois locations that are known for its unique fried chicken menu items.

According to Eat This, Not That!, all three of the restaurants only serve antibiotic-free and humanely raised chicken. 

4. The Jerk Shack - San Antonio

The only city The Jerk Shack is located in is San Antonio, but it was featured in an episode of Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives

The Jerk Shack received positive attention right after Nicola Blaque opened the Texas restaurant in 2018.
