Aldi customers have urgently been told not to eat a bakery item recalled last month as there is now an 'active police investigation' into claims it 'may have been tampered with'.
The supermarket giant pulled the 'Village Bakery 8 Tortilla Wraps White' off the shelves in March amid concerns that 'metal' could be present in the product.
Now the supermarket giant has confirmed that the suspected 'tampering' is currently being investigated by police.
The affected products - which come in 8x62g packets and are made by Signature Flatbreads UK - include all best before dates up to and including April 29, 2024.
Aldi has told customers who have bought the item to 'not eat them' and instead return the wraps to their nearest store to claim a refund.
