This is the shocking moment thieves smashed through a Nationwide branch to steal a cash machine in an early morning ramraid.

Video footage taken at 5.30am today shows a telehandler ripping the ATM from the wall in Sawbridgeworth, Hertfordshire, before it is loaded onto a pickup truck.

Police, who were called to the scene shortly after, said both vehicles had been reported stolen.

Three men fled the scene and left the telehandler vehicle behind, the force added.

Footage shared on social media shows the telehandler being driven towards the building society and then reversing to the sound of loud crashes, seemingly with the cash machine in tow.
