King Charles' new maze garden in the grounds of his Royal Sandringham estate in Norfolk has started to take shape - inspired by the elaborate labyrinth he played in there as a child.
New photos show topiary hedges have now been planted around a central fountain in the Lower Maze Garden, which is being constructed on the West Lawn in front of Sandringham House.
The square maze, which is expected to be completed this summer, is set to have a pattern of paths and topiary hedges, with planting in each of the four corners.

Most of the paths have already been created and the workmen are now planting the hedges and adding the pipework for the central fountain.
Steps have been created on the banks of two sides of the maze and several formal topiary trees, which have been beautifully shaped, have also been added.
