A grieving victim of the Hull funeral fraud scandal has spoken of her heartbreak after being told she will never be reunited with her father's missing ashes.
Mother of three Billie Jo Suffill, 33, had been desperately waiting for news of her father's long-lost remains after police swooped on Legacy Family Funerals early in March and arrested two people.
Humberside Police revealed a quantity of human ash from the premises on Hessle Road during the raid – as well as finding 35 unburied corpses in the funeral home morgue.
Families who never received their loved ones remains had been hoping to give them a proper burial. The 25 bodies have now been identified.
But other families have now been given the devastating news that the cremation process had destroyed all the DNA in the ashes making it impossible for scientists to identify who they belonged to.
Billie Jo was pictured kissing her father's coffin at Legacy when Andy Suffill's life was cut tragically short at the age of 52.
He passed away on July 9 2022 and five days later his son Dwane, 33, took his own life after finding his parent's body.
At the time of his death police said it was 'unexplained'.
