Terrifying footage has emerged of the moment a tradie beat a man with a spirit level during a wild road rage attack in front of school children.

The road rage incident was captured by startled students on a school bus at Bli Bli, on Queensland's Sunshine Coast, on April 19.

Footage circulating on social media showed a man reaching into his car before he grabbed the spirit level and chased down a man.
