The man accused of murdering his partner and then setting their house on fire before fleeing the blaze has faced court.
Luke Hanif Sekkouah, 35, faced Northbridge Magistrates Court on Sunday charged with the murder of 30-year-old Erica Hay.
Firefighters discovered Ms Hay's body in a rear bedroom of a home on Currie Street, Warnbro, in Perth's southern suburbs, at about 1am on Friday after being called to the property following reports of a house fire.
Police allege Sekkouah physically assaulted the mother-of-four sometime between 7.30am Thursday and 1am Friday, at the home they both lived.
It will be alleged Sekkouah then set fire to the home while Ms Hay was still inside.
